Greenberg has represented college and professional coaches, athletic directors, and universities in contract matters.  During that period of time he has handled contract matters for such coaches as Jim Grobe, Head Football Coach – Wake Forest University; Rick Majerus, former Head Basketball Coach – University of Utah; Joey Meyer, former Head Basketball Coach – DePaul University; Randy Walker, former Head football Coach – Northwestern University; Mark Richt, Head Football Coach – University of Georgia; and Del Harris, former Head Basketball Coach of the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers, to name a few.

sports lawGreenberg is recognized as one of the preeminent authorities with respect to coaches’ contracts, both respect to formation and termination. He has also represented a number of universities as a consultant with respect to the adequacy, sufficiency and legal protection of their college coaching contracts. Similarly, Greenberg has represented athletic directors with respect to the same contractual issues.

Greenberg’s articles in the Marquette Sports Law Review are considered seminal works with respect to the legal and business issues involved in college coaching contracts.

Greenberg has taught a course at Marquette University Law School that includes the drafting and negotiation of coaches’ contracts and representation of coaches in contract formation and termination proceedings for over twenty years. He has shared his wisdom and experience with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, the American Football Coaches Association, and the NCAA Men’s Coaching Academy.
